9 Reasons Why Application Developers Think Their CIO Is Clueless

Via Slashdot (described cru­elly but amus­ingly as “women’s weekly for geeks” by one mart young devel­oper I know), we find this arti­cle at CIO mag­a­zine — 9 Reasons Why Application Developers Think Their CIO Is Clueless.

Having been the CIO and main devel­oper most of the time at west­civ, I can see both points of view. Not sure what kind of a can of worms this might open at work, but inter­ested in folks thoughts — CIOs and developers.

  1. I don’t think the arti­cle really presents two points of view, in fact, it’s mostly generic advice about man­age­ment (i.e. “be sure and del­e­gate”). Nevertheless, clue­ness is ram­pant. Check out my com­plete response, includ­ing a vastly improved list of nine reasons:
