Despite all the (justified) doom and gloom about data plans and pricing, one lucky person is still going to win an iPhone courtesy of Web Directions this Friday morning, even at the ridiculous gouge it will almost certainly be to get one without a plan from either Optus, Vodafone or Telstra. As we’ve always said “we’ll make it work”.

So, if you haven’t registered yet, and you want to be in the running to win, get your registration in before Friday morning.

For myself, I’m still holding out a ridiculous hope that Vodafone are going to come good. Certainly going to sit tight for at least a month after Friday and see what happens: as John says in his post on Friday, the very worst thing would be t be stuck with some terrible contract if Optus etc do start caving in on data plans. I’d advise the winner of the meat tray to do the same thing :)
