Social climbing

Dif­fer­ent pro­fes­sions have their net­work­ing sports of choice — it may be the tra­di­tional golf, Barack Obamas’s favoured Bas­ket­ball, Yacht­ing, but in the web, indoor climb­ing seems to be the sport of choice, with well known adher­ents like Kevin Rose and Daniel Burka of Digg, Tan­tek Çelik.

Whether you’ve climbed the Ara­piles, or wouldn’t know a cara­bina from a carona (that’s the thing with the lemon attached), here’s your chance to climb with fel­low web folks dur­ing web week.

So, if you are an avid climber, stopped climb­ing years ago, or have never climbed at all, sign up and get along to web week’s social climb­ing event. If you’re a begin­ner, or need a refresh, you’ll get a belay­ing a safety les­son, and all the gear you’ll need will be provided.

At the end of the ses­sion, you’ll get the chance to unwind with a quiet drink or two.
