Thank you

This is not the end, by any means, but just for the moment, a huge thank you to all who came to the conference, to make it the amazing experience it was. 600 web folk from around the world, saw 30 wonderful speakers, and without doubt the best Web Directions yet.

Some slides are already online at SlideShare, so keep an eye there for more as they come online.
There’s already over 1000 photos at Flickr tagged WDS07 — so upload or tag yours, comment and annotate those you find, or just take a bit of a look.
We recorded every session, so podcasts will be coming soon, hopefully linked to slides using podcasts new feature for this, as soon as possible.
Remember too to check out meetweaver, and even join up

Lastly just for now, a few thanks

Thanks to our sponsors and exhibitors for supporting us, and letting us do so much more this year
Thanks to our speakers — you inspired us, entertained us, educated us, and fired us up to do even more
And far from least, our attendees — thanks from coming from across the street or the world, and making the event truly inspiring.

Stay tuned, plenty more news on this channel very soon

  1. And thanks to you two especially. We all know there’s lots of people working behind the scenes to make the WD events happen so well, but there also have to be some folks who take the lead, define what the conference is and give it the flavour that we all find so tasty.

I’m sure you’ll get lots of suggestions for improvements and being you, you’ll build on those.

But just for a momenet, take the credit for a great event, an important event.

    Hats off to you both.

  2. John and Max, yet again you proved that WDS is THE web event of the year. You totally ROCK.

Again, thank you two for organising such a great conference. It’s the first web-related conference I’ve been to, and it was fantastic.

Oh, and thanks to the catering staff too. That food was pretty damn good.

No no thank you. This year was very different to the last with a focus on the bigger picture, ‘look outside of the square’ view on the web industry, which is something many of us don’t have the time to do.

The addition of the expo is a great idea and the quality speakers and sponsors really make a difference, especially when the likes of Chris Wilson take the time to attend things like the after events, definitely makes it into my book of highlights!

I would like to look at the photos taken by the professional photographer at the Thursday night after party though but I can’t seem to find them on the Flickr WDS07 tag.

Do you know who took them or where they might be?

Thanks to you all, we are really proud of the event this year. It was a big step up, with a few changes, so we were not quite sure how that would pan out for all involved, but the feedback has been very very positive.

The photos from the party will be online as soon as we get them from the photographer. The photos from Morgan, who was also doing a lot of photos for us, are at Flickr

We’ll have lots of news and updates soon, but in the meantime, I have to say one more time, Thank you!
