WebDirections Conference goers

WD06 Resources

Every one of our in depth sessions was packed with new ideas and techniques to help designers and developers build more usable, more accessible, and simply better web solutions. We want to make as much of this as we can available to those who simply couldn’t be there. Over time we’ll be releasing podcasts (subscribe to the podcast now), as well as speakers notes and slides as they come to hand. Follow the links below to find all the resources associated with each session.

[...] So, we’re really excited to announce that this year WD06 will be closing with Mark Pesce on You-biquity. It’s time to revisit the entire philosophy of interaction design on the Web, time to move the focus away from the site-as-resource, toward an idea of the site-as-personal-enabler. What we each bring to a website - or rather, what we should bring to a website - is a wealth of information about ourselves. This is the real resource of Web2.0, and the next place the Web is going. The exuberance around social networks shows us that people want to connect - it’s time for designers to build the tools which will truly enable that connection. [...]

  3. the slideshare blog » Blog Archive » Conferences starting to use slideshare October 14th, 2006 at 5:37 am

[...] We’re starting to see conferences using slideshare as a way of getting all the slides from a conference onto an online archive. A conference organizer can to get an account on slideshare and upload all the slideshows (this is what the NRCP 06 conference, a conference for paralegals, has done). Alternately, the conference organizer can just tell speakers to upload their slideshows to slideshare, and to use a meaningful tag to describe the conference. For example, the webdirections 2006 conference in Sydney is tagging their slideshows “wd06″. [...]

  5. frankarr - an aussie microsoft blogger : More about the new roles November 12th, 2006 at 6:14 pm

[...] The Developer Evangelist role is web focused. The person in this role is to take a lead on all things web vnext. I need someone who can code gadgets, mashups and build proof of concepts for customers and also work with partners.  This would be the person to drive WPF adoption for online applications and work with partners/customers to produce an app like the NY Times Reader, as well as all things related to Windows Live. I expect this person to be talking at events like the recent web directions 06  and to take a lead on things like Mix.   [...]
