Web Directions Conferences for web and digital professionals

Events of the week, February 3rd

In what I plan to be a regular post, I’l bring together an (Australia centric) list of events, meetups and so on that I think might be worth attending.

To start off, a couple of events that have crossed my desk, quite coincidentally both associated with ThoughtWorks (I plan to expand this to upcoming Meetups in the coming weeks).

Machine Learning for Product Managers

Melbourne, 3 March 2020
5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Machine learning offers huge potential across digital products but it continues to come with so much hype that it leaves us with more questions than answers. What new thing can we build we couldn’t before? How do we introduce intelligence into existing products? How much data do we really need?

Secure your Digital Life

Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, 13 February,
6.00 – 8.00pm

How many devices do you have in your life? Bank accounts? Services you’ve signed up to. How many passwords? How vulnerable are you to these being hacked, phished, or even guessed at?
If this remotely concerns you, and it should, spend Valentine’s Eve with friendly nerds, beer, and pizza. You will learn practical digital privacy techniques. This includes securing your messages, protecting your digital identity, and not being tracked online.

We make events for the professionals shaping the digital future
