Year round learning for product, design and engineering professionals

Jobs of the week, March 2nd

If you’re wondering which jobs end up in this list, well, it’s jobs at organisations we likely know well (one way or another). It’s above all because of the people who work there, whom I’ve got to know perhaps as a speaker at one of our events, perhaps as an attendee. My instinct is if you have great people working for you, you’re a good place to work.
Above all, that’s what I’m looking to signal boost–there’s a very competitive market for design, product and engineering talent, and hopefully the workplaces that treat their people the best ultimately attract the best talent, and succeed accordingly.

Lead Product Designer
Different, Sydney
Different is a relatively new Sydney based company, co-founded by former Global Head of Product at Uber Mina Radhakrishnan aiming to re-imagine property management. You’ be working with Web Directions speaker and all round great person Nicola Rushton, and

“have the opportunity to grow a design team from the ground up and define the design ethos of the company. Joining at this early stage means that you can grow with the company – you’ll start as a mentor and manager to a team of 3 and grow into the Head of Design role”

Senior UI/Product Designer
Whistleout
, Sydney
Whistleout is a long standing successful Australian company that helps people find the best possible phone and internet plans in Australia, US and beyond. Creative Director Peter Ottery has been a friend for many years and spoke at one of our very earliest events.

The Senior UI/Product Designer is in a unique position to champion visual design, user experience and interface design across the organisation. You’ll have an impact on everyone at the company – empowering them with a design vision, and being hands on in continually improving the site design.

Senior UI Application Engineer
Quantium
, Sydney

And speaking of friends of Web Directions, they don’t come any older, or more close than Ben Buchanan, who more or less hitchhiked down from Brisbane as a student for our first ever event, and whose Big Stonkin’ Posts from many of our events provide a lasting record of hundreds of amazing presentations.

His team at Quantium are looking for a Senior UI Application Engineer, “with a passion for that intersection of design and engineering to come in and help, among other things, build our design framework and UI library, Qbit.”

Three great jobs working with fantastic people at great companies this week!
