Google’s new approach to China
Google had just taken what we believe is a huge step forward for the web, and the world
We have decided we are no longer willing to continue censoring our results on Google.cn, and so over the next few weeks we will be discussing with the Chinese government the basis on which we could operate an unfiltered search engine within the law, if at all. We recognize that this may well mean having to shut down Google.cn, and potentially our offices in China
This is a hugely important step, and a courageous one by Google, who really are willing to put their money where their mouth is.

This leads me to the question: Would google reconsider it’s business opportunities and viability in Australia if the government pass a bill for a nation wide mandatory Internet Filter?
But google resumed censorship just one day after its declaration!!!
Is this just a business show?
